Deleting your account and data
You can delete your Zap Live account at any time. It is immediate and permanent: the data cannot be recovered afterwards.
From the app (recommended)
- Open Zap Live and go to your profile.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm twice and type your username: it's there to prevent deletions by mistake.
Without the app
If you no longer have the phone or can't log in, write to info@zaplive.app from the email address you signed up with, giving your username. We delete the account within 30 days of the request — usually much sooner — and confirm by email.
What gets deleted
- The profile: email, username, display name, date of birth, bio, pronouns, link, photo.
- All posted videos and their thumbnails, including the stored files.
- Comments, direct messages and conversations.
- Likes, saves, follows, views and the usage data used for the feed.
- Coins, earnings, subscriptions and exclusive content.
- Reports you've made, appeals and tickets.
What may be kept, and for how long
The record of moderation decisions about you — what was decided, when and why — remains even after deletion, to protect other users and to respond to the authorities if required. The viewing data the app sent us is kept for 90 days at most. Other people's posts that used one of your sounds stay, because the audio is inside their video. Nothing else survives deletion.
